Well, it's Friday and usually I'm gearing up for work on the weekend, unlike most people. Today however, I feel like TGIF. I have been in Sturgeon Bay for four long days in a row and am taking a break from the set up of Vintage Nest of Door County (which is Feb 6th and 7th, btw). Here is a snippet of the progress that has been happening!
All My Best, Julie... I love the color of these cool items. Julie has aprons and paper dolls hanging in the windows of the old kitchen.
In a Haystack.... she has four of these really unusual heavy metal chairs.
Small Town Vintage goodies.... wait till you see her displays. I'm feeling a tad jealous.... she's lucky she's such a cutie.
The picture at the top is mine.... I know you can tell if you know me!
So............... all the girls will be there tomorrow............ I think we'll hop in the car and see what they're up to, forget TGIF.

Let The Games Begin!
Today was our first day to get into the building to get things started. What fun! We all unloaded and helped each other move, scoot and dust. Big pieces are in and now we get to start on the details, which is our favorite part!
Here is my new friend, Owen.... he's very helpful, not to mention the way he has with the ladies.
Julie and Heidi start unloading... it's all fun!
Everything was in such a mess, I had to put something in order! Vintage dress.
I came across these wonderful vintage glasses with roosters etched into them.
Here's some of Small Town Vintage's beginnings... lots more to come!
This looks like a hunk of junk, but will be turned into treasure soon!

The Vintage Nest of Door County Show (and Viva!)
Here is a preview of a few items I've been working with. The photo above just warms my heart. Look at all the ladies toasting with their glasses full! I made a sweet collage on a vintage wine bottle.
How fun to find some vintage ballerina slippers.... what do you do with them? Ah ha! Vintage millinery flowers.... so sweet.
I wanted to make a Spring Queen crown. There is another one on the way as well.

I sure hope the weather holds up so you can all come to the show. The four of us are just having the best time! It's winter, and quiet in Door County.... what better way than to create things from the heart. We don't always get this chance during the summer.
Mark you calendars! February 6th and 7th!

Flea Market Style Magazine Get Your Copy Here!
Take a look at my new side bar on Flea Market Style Magazine.
This is a brand new magazine that is to hit the shelves at the end of February.
I have been following the creation of this magazine through the blog they created. The people involved are amazingly creative and know junking, flea marketing and creating style like no one I've seen!
You may have noticed that I follow Heather Bullard's blog, and you may know "Ki" from the junk market... then there is Matthew Meade... anyway, these are a few of the creators and I am waiting with baited breath for the stack to arrive at the shop.
That's right! I'm going to have the magazine for purchase at the shop!
So while you're here, click on the side bar to get to the blog and see what teasers we're in for.
The Magazine should arrive at my place late Feb.... I hope, and if you want me to send you a copy, I will, or call me and I will put one aside for you!

Vintage Nest of Door County
This is the newest and most exciting event coming up shortly!
If you read my blog, you know about the "Occasional Sales" I've been slightly obsessed with.
Well, we've decided to start our own right here in Door County!
My friends Katie and Carol and I are enthralled with the hunt for treasures as well as displaying them in new ways. We have been in cahoots for years now about great flea markets, garage sales, stuff on the side of the road and all these great vintage shows that are all over Minnesota.
We've decided to quit the talk and walk the walk! We've in invited a fourth friend and are ready to put on the show.
I think we may be crazy to have the show in February, but frankly we just can't wait. This is a good time for us to work out the kinks before we take this show on the road. That's not to say we won't have fabulous displays and incredible treasures for sale, but to get our feet wet a quieter time is better.... all the more treasure for you!
The location is a dream. If you are familiar with Sturgeon Bay, you will remember where Jefferson Street Antiques used to be, next door to Monticello. The owners are retired and have graciously let us take over for two weeks.
The building is incredible and each of us is taking over a space to design in the way the each of us does.
I think you will enjoy the spring theme and the unique touch that each vendor brings.
The vendor list will change as well as the location throughout the year as some of us have "businesses" to run during other months, but as of now we're thinking of April as our next hurrah. The Vintage Nest of DC will also participate in the annual Viva's Vintage Market.
We have also secured a FABULOUS Door County Barn to hold a show that will happen during warmer weather.
So for now, I truly hope to see you at the show, knowing you are in for a treat, and I will pop up little teasers for you!
Be sure to follow us on Face Book as well.
Now, I have to go and vacuum all the Martha Stewart glitter that is all over my kitchen. I am humbled and reminded that I BUY handmade, I don't DO it.
